Special operations forces Active or Reserve component commissioned officers, warrant officers, or noncommissioned officers or selected DOD personnel who are assigned to, or who will be assigned to, a military free-fall position. Must have completed a recognized static-line jumpmaster course and a military free-fall parachutist course. Must have served as a military free-fall parachutist for a minimum of one year and completed a minimum of 50 military free-fall jumps. Requires current military free-fall physical (valid for 3 years, if the soldier is less than 45 years old, yearly from 45 on) if the soldier is presently on military free-fall status/orders. Otherwise, a physical is required within two
years through the course completion date. Must report with medical records on day of inprocessing and possess a current physiological training (altitude chamber) card.
Organization/unit surgeons will base their determination of a soldier’s medical qualification/disqualification on AR 40-501, Standards of Medical Fitness (1 May 1989), Interim Change No. 101 to AR 40-501 (1 October 1991), and the USAJFKSWCS Memorandum, “Requirements for Completing Physical Examinations for USAJFKSWCS Schools,” 1 March 1995.
*Soldiers requesting waivers for disqualifying conditions will submit their physical examinations along with a memorandum requesting the waiver (not later than 30 days prior to the class start date) through the USASOC Medical Training Division for delivery to USAJFKSWCS (where waivers are considered).
