SFA Chapter 78’s Sentinel
Voted Best SFA Newsletter
of 2025-2026

By Debra Holm

Toot our own horn? Absolutely! The Sentinel crew is thrilled to report that our publication has been voted the Special Forces Association’s best newsletter for 2025–2026.

The award was announced at the Special Forces Association Convention this June. Since none of our members could attend the ceremony, the plaque, now on display in our Teamhouse, made its way to our Chapter President, who presented it to the team behind it all—publisher Richard Simonian, editor How Miller, and graphic designer/webmaster Debra Holm—at our August chapter meeting.

We’re honored by the recognition, and it lights a fire under us to keep doing what we do best: reporting, revealing, and preserving the history of Special Forces and everyone who has supported its mission.

A tip of the beret to the many members who’ve donated their writing to the Sentinel over the years—including longtime contributors like Greg Walker, Marc Yablonka, and John Stryker Meyer, just to name a few. None of it would be possible without writers willing to share their stories and expertise. To every writer, past and present, who has picked up a pen on our behalf: thank you.
